I recently posted about Olivier Van Herpt and his 3D printed ceramics, that you can see here. I got the chance to attend a demonstration by Jonathan Keep a few months ago where he was explaining and showing how to use a 3D printer to make ceramic wares. I already knew quite a bit about 3D printing, but seeing the cup literally grow before my eyes was still impressive and mesmerizing. In this video, Jonathan Keep explains how to make your own ceramic 3D printer. I am consider

Here is a method to make multiples quickly in ceramics : press moulding. Those two videos, one by Alan Paulson and the other one by the Musée Départemental de la Faïence in France, give you an overview of how to do so. Have a look and let me know if you have used or are planning to use this technique. #pressmold #alanpaulson #ceramictutorial #ceramicists #ceramicshowto #clay #crafts #handmade #makingceramics #plastermould #pottery #unique #videotutorial
Last week I made some boxes that I will use when I am making plaster moulds for my slip casting. They are movable which means I can make a wide range of different sizes. They are going to be much more easy to use that the old system I was using! I simply used old boards of wood that I cut the same size and some small metal brackets I folded and screwed onto the wooden boards. Easy! This way I can slide them to change the size. #ceramicshowto #ceramics #handmade #mouldmaking
In this video Alan Paulson teaches how to make a plaster mould for slip casting. This one is a drop out mould (one part) but I will be posting later on a video about how to make several parts moulds. #mouldmaking #plastermould #ceramictutorial #ceramics #alanpaulson #ceramicshowto #crafts #handmade #makingceramics #pottery #unique #videotutorial #vessels

Paper clay is a good way to recycle old slip, and it also allows you to create light pieces. In this document by Lisa Merida-Paytes you will discover how to make paper clay. #paperclay #lisameridapaytes #ceramictutorial #ceramics #ceramicshowto #crafts #diy #handmade #makingceramics #paper #pottery
I am increasingly looking at how I could add patterns and drawings onto my ceramic pieces, especially for my jewellery as I have a few ideas in mind for my next collection… Here is a video by Erin Furimsky called ”paper stencils and underglaze transfer” demonstrating how to create handmade transfer paper and how to apply the transfer afterward onto clay. #erinfurimsky #transferontoclay #ceramictutorial #ceramicshowto #crafts #diy #handmade #illustration #makingceramics #potte
