Still learning how to throw.


As you might know I decided to take some throwing classes; as I tend to use the slip casting method usually, I thought throwing was a very useful skill to learn as well.

I started by making cylinders, then I learnt how to make lids for my cylinders in order to make boxes. Then I will gradually move on to other kind of shapes.

I discovered that throwing is a lot like the practice of a music instrument, it takes time, effort, dedication, it is sometimes frustrating, and it is LONG.

Here are some photos of my trials and errors when making cylinders and lids. The last photos show my pieces glazed but unfired, when they are fired I will post some photos. I am so excited!
